Athena Energy?

Athena Energy Partners is a Houston-based upstream oil and gas company focused on acquiring, developing, and optimizing both conventional and unconventional oil and gas assets in South Texas. The experienced team has developed large-scale assets across North America and positions Athena to capture attractive risk-adjusted return opportunities in the region, all while keeping environmental impacts top of mind.

The company is led by Stephen Goldfarb, former CFO of Ensign Natural Resources. Several other former key members of the team, including Garner Haydell, Jennifer Smith, and Matt Geiser, are with him, leading Athena. This successful leadership team has a deep rolodex, allowing for fast operational startup and attracting top talent. 

Athena is backed by Lime Rock Partners, one of the longest-tenured private equity firms built around energy.
